Happy Memorial Day

From our Proud military family to yours.

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty. -John F. Kennedy

let me tell you about separation...

Webster defines separation as "to set or keep apart." Next to Separate it suggested disconnect or sever. This defines our year. Our whole year of disconnected separation.

My husband, my best friend, my partner in crime is currently 9,000 miles away. In a different day, in a different part of the world. How crazy is that? My husband is in tomorrow and I miss him.

Us army wives are tough, and were supposed to have it all together. We are strong, we are mighty, we are capable of miraculous feats, or so it seems.

I myself have weeks where I cry, I bitch, I complain, Im a big fat ball of negative nancy. Thats my current state of being. While I try to be positive, and try to see the light and appreciate all that surrounds me sometimes its just HARD.

I miss my best friend, I miss my co-parent, heck I miss taking a shower! Yes, I take showers...but they consist of about 4 minutes and usually someone screaming at me on the other side of the curtain.

As an Army wife with a husband in another country, we are left to be everything to everyone. I am a maid, a cook, a teacher, a doctor, a story teller, a veterinarian you name it and we are handling it. Its no wonder that some times I just feel like I can't take another second and I hide inside my master closet wondering if its over yet.

We sometimes feel like because we are supposed to be so strong and mighty we are not allowed to show weakness. Or at least thats how I feel. I bottle up my whines and my complaints and I pretend everything is peachy keen. Then three kids will cry, two dogs will bark, the doorbell rings, your phone vanishes, the toilet over flows and all of a sudden your brain just goes KA BOOM! Bottling it all up is a bad bad idea...must find an outlet.

I like to blog, in fact I love it. I love sharing the pictures I take of my children and I love telling the stories I want to remember a long time from now. Sometimes though, its another thing I have to put off because there are just one too many distractions going on.

So my blogger absence is due to insanity. I am late posting Owens ten month blog, I have a few blogs in draft and about 200 pictures to go through.

Please excuse me while I hide in my master closet for awhile.

If you have a Military wife in your community please reach out. We are too darn stubborn to ask for help but we would love some. It will make our day and you will be doing your country a great service, helping the wives who help the guys fight for our freedom.
