40 bags in 40 days-Update #2

My 40 bags project is coming along....Most days I hate it, I hate all the STUFF in my house. However, once your finish that spot, and you see the difference? I love it. I am on a first name basis at goodwill, and just found out they will come to my house and pick stuff up, yeah!

Here is my update...

I dont have a before picture, but look at the bag under it and just IMAGINE what this looked like before. Yikes. This was just filled with stuff that probably had no where else to go. Now it went to Goodwill and I heard its happy there.

Another storage cabinet full of nothing important.
After
and the final of the "left" corner of the basement.

This is one of those spots that I am afraid of, not only are there scary dark corners, but there is TONS of stuff that we are saving for who knows what. Maybe the kids will shrink and fit in all their baby clothes again?

Here is the after! Still more work to do with this area. I'll be back!
This is all the stuff I got out of that one spot. YIKES. Kind of embarrassing....

The medicine cabinet.....There were things in here that expired in 2005. People....get in your medicine cabinets and clean them out!!!!! Youll feel so much better about yourself.
 the after....amazing!

Every city should list what their procedure is for throwing out medicine, its really easy to look up and even better to get rid of all the expired medicine!

Until next time!

Get in the shot!

Every camera has a timer on it, even the cheapest of point and shoots can do a timer. How many pictures do us moms take a month and how many are we actually in? I think its so important that our kids have photos of us WITH them so I am challenging you, to get in the pictures.

Screw the double chin, screw the flubby gut, we all have our issues but our kids dont see us that way. They think we are beautiful! (at least until teenage years right?)

So give it up, and get in the shot! You'll thank me later.

I am going to try and do this at least once a month. I think its a necessity.

Parenting moment of the year.

So as most of you know our Guinea pig died this week...

Well this morning we woke up to discover that our betta fish named Noodle that we have had for almost a year had also died.

We didnt want to tell the kids, and devastate them all over again so while they were at school Owen and I went to Petsmart, they didn't have a fish that looked even remotely like him. So then we went to Petco and SAME thing.

So i settled on this guy.... I mean hes practically Noodles twin right?

I came up with some crazy story just incase they asked.  Did YOU know that fish completely change color on their birthday?! I didn't know either!

Hailey comes home from school today and after awhile she goes up to the fish tank and says "HI noodle how are you.....what?! You're not noodle!" so I intervened and said "Hailey its his birthday! They change color on their birthday" she then goes "Oh......(long pause) Happy birthday noodle!" then skipped away.

Hunter is happily distracted for now and hasnt noticed "noodles" new coat.

You do what you gotta do....right?

Ten on Ten- February

Happy  ten on ten!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

Started the day off with a rare moment- Hailey in time out! She is such a well behaved kid this rarely happens. I am lucky to have her!
I sat on the ground to get a shot of Owen, so naturally he had to run right at me and tackle me.
Grandma and papa came down to spend the day with us, we had a sad day yesterday.
Hunter, you are always so busy doing your grown up kid things, thanks for letting me snap this photo of you!
Yesterday, our dear guinea pig Ozzy passed away. He was the best Guinea pig, always so happy to see us, and eat, and playful. We loved him a lot...This was so unexpected and has hit the kids really hard. I snapped this shot while we were burying Oz in the backyard. They were too sad to come out :(
 We played HedBandz with Grandma
 Stella chewed her ball
 Ozzys resting place.
This is what usually happens when I try and get a picture of this kid.
and this one because this is just the kind of thing that occurs in our home on a daily basis. My mom said that our house is like a comedy club. So true!

I love that my parents can drive down for a visit and help cheer up the kids. Today was a great day :) How was your 10th??

40 bags update!

Ive been crossing off zones like a mad woman, and let me tell ya....its addicting! I got rid of a good amount of stuff in January and made 3 trips to goodwill.

I have recently remembered that Goodwill will come to my house once a month and pick up, even better!

Here is a look at my progress so far

The playroom book shelf. Before...

After!

The playroom toybox
After!
Haileys toy box...this one is my favorite
After!  and no, I did not get rid of all her toys...but I did manage to totally downsize this toy box and put the "keep me" toys in better spots around the room. Got rid of the big floppy toy box!
There is no before here, but I realized we were keeping the lids to pots and pans we have thrown away.
The spice cabinet before
and after.
I highly recommend cleaning out this area, we had spices that had a use by date of 2008!!! Gross.
Before
After, this was another zone with oodles of lids! Get rid of the lids people!

and a happy trip to goodwill. Feels good!

How is your list going?
