Owens One in a Flash

Owens first birthday party was a huge success. It was definitely the best party I ever put on! I've never done all the decor myself, You usually would find me scanning the dollar store for just a couple streamers and a matching tablecloth! However I ended up spending less money than I wouldve on a boring character party!

This year I saw over on The Macs blog she had the cutest party for her son and I knew I had to throw one for Owen.

Here are some shots from the party and the decoration!

The table all ready for guests, the colors as you can see were Orange, light blue, and white.

We had orange Reeses Pieces, orange Juicy Juice, and orange Kool aid.
Those white things in the corner? White fudge dipped Oreos, those were to die for!!!

The polk a dot box is the time capsule, with the invitation I sent everyone an orange index card with a note asking them to give an 18 year old Owen some advice they wished they had!
We got such great responses I loved reading through them all.

I made Owens invite using photoshop and some good old GIF art for the film strip.

Another view of the table. We gave out disguises as party favors and had popcorn as munchies.

My lovely husband modeling the party favors

This is the reason I knew we had to do this, perfect for a photo holic!
I made the banner out of card stock and ribbon also. The numbers say 1-12 corresponding with a picture from that month of Owens life. The beautiful prints came from my printing company, thanks WHCC!

I made 30 lips and mustaches for party fun, and even made a custom binky for our special guy.

Orange and white balloons, always have to have balloons!

I made the banner for Owens high chair out of some card stock, ribbon and a hot glue gun. Super easy and cost me about 4$

I also picked up a couple frames from ARC and spray painted them to match.

I made the lips and mustaches out of hard felt and a craft stick, making all 30 only cost me 4$ also!

The whole gang!

I really loved the frames! great 2$ spend

Urkel!

My lovely parents

We had a blast and I really had fun making the decorations!!

Happy ONE Owen!

Im sad your parties over too.

ONE

As everyone always says, it seems like only yesterday....

You were a tiny pink, squishy, brand new baby. So little and needing to be protected and nurtured.
You entered into our family like you were there all along, you knew your place.
Hunter and Hailey had no trouble adjusting to you and have loved you every second of every day.

This year has flown by, we have watched you learn to roll and sit and stand and walk. Witnessed your first time at the zoo and baseball games, and airplane rides.

Youve met a handful of family that also loves you so much!
You have blessed every one of us with your easy going nature and your wonderful smile.

You are now ONE!
Do we have to call you toddler O now? No thanks, Im sticking with baby...even when you walk down that graduation aisle, you'll be Mr. Baby O.

Every time you walk across the room (thats right you walk now!) Hunter and Hailey say " OH MY GOSH, HES WALKING!!!!" They are so excited to see you grow. You have been walking around for about a week now and it still excites them every time.

You took your first steps the day before you turned 11 months...then you stalled for a few weeks. The day Daddy came home and was sitting on our couch, you let go of the couch and walked across the room for the FIRST time. He was so excited you saved that for him!

Now that you have been doing that for about a week you have already learned how to turn during a walk and get up off the floor without assistance.

Is there anything you can't do?

Your favorite snack is still Pirate booty, you love the stuff! I must say it is addicting!

You haven't decided on your first word yet but you do love to babble! Unless BOO counts as a first word, the other day you were popping up from behind the couch going "BOO!" So adorable.

I love when I go away for an hour and come home and you act like its been years since you saw your mama. Stay a Mamas boy forever!

We love you little Owen, Thank you for completing our family. You are SO much fun to have around.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY BABY O

Ten on Ten

Ten on Ten: 10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
(Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!)

First of all, woops! This blog is just becoming a ten on ten and an Owen update! I need to get better about blogging again. Summer is quite distracting!

Good mornin Owen! He just loves his blueberries.

Just a few Raspberries from our bushes, seriously there are so many! I have no idea what I am supposed to do with them all. This was from one bush of maybe 50? no joke.

Daddy is home! We have been enjoying his company, we taught Hailey to play New Mario for Wii.

We went out for dinner to Jose Muldoons, Kids eat free on Sundays!

Mr. Almost One clapping with Daddy. He was excited it was almost dinner time.

 Check the watermark, :).

My yummy dinner that I didn't have to cook!

After dinner we walked across the street to let the kids play in the park downtown.
I love downtown Colorado Springs!

Peek a boo I see you!
