3 weeks ago a 7 week old baby beagle came into our lives. She was absolutely adorable and the most well behaved puppy Ive ever met. She was smart and the kids fell madly in love with her as did Russ and I. We gave her the name Luna, from Harry potter and called her Looney Luna.
She was the perfect little addition to our little family.
On Friday Luna was throwing up, and I assumed it was because she ate something she shouldnt have and let her eat some grass. She was pretty sick friday with vomiting and diareah, but I wanted to wait and see what another day would do. Saturday was my wedding annversary so we drove up to Tucson and left Luna in the laundry room. We came home and she hadnt been sick the whole day and was even looking like a happy puppy again.
Yesterday Sunday, however she was pretty lethargic and the sickies had returned full force.
I woke up this morning and picked her up and she did not look good, she was so skinny and limp and just NOT luna, I made the soonest Vet appointment I could get and took her in. By the time we got out appointment she was at the point of not much you can do.
She got Parvo, and I had to have her put to sleep today. The hour I spent with her at the Vet watching her struggle to hang on was the hardest thing I ever had to do.
My poor little puppy, her life was only 9 1/2 weeks long and even though we only had her 3 of those weeks we feel she loved us forever.
Looney Luna,
I will miss seeing you attack the Cat even though she was bigger than you and has ferocious claws.
I will miss seeing you be brave enough to steal max' tennis ball right out from under his nose. (No one touches Max' ball)
I will miss seeing you hoard all your findings under the dining room table.
I will miss seeing you unable to get up on the couch but desperatley want to sit and watch Greys anatomy episodes with me.
I will miss seeing my children squeal with delight when you chased after them or tried to lick them to death.

I will especially miss you running through the house and backyard happy as can be with your soft little ears bouncing along.
You were a beautiful puppy and we will miss you dearly. Im so sorry you had to get sick little baby.
Tell Bubba, Puky and Spot hi for me in heaven. See you on Rainbow Bridge.
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
