Eleven Months!

You did so much growing up in the last month! I cant believe it. I watched you put yourself to sleep in your crib tonight just mesmerized by you. Just a few minutes ago you were this tiny incapable little baby and now you are a big beaming baby boy.

In true fashion of growing up really fast you decided to switch to bottle and formula this month. No more breastfeeding for you! I was a bit sad at first but it has made a few things so much easier...like letting mommy work out at the gym!

We took you swimming for your very first time at the YMCA (where no photography is allowed! what!?) At first you hated it, but after a bit of coaxing you in you didnt want to get out. Now when we go you have a blast!
(okay, so I stole a picture...SHH!)

Your current favorite snacks are Pirate booty, cheez its, strawberries, watermelon and cheddar cheese. You and I get along well on the snacking. Your favorite of all your favorites is definitely watermelon. Yum yum! Good thing its summer time.

We have been having a good summer so far, gotta keep Older brother and sister entertained! We took you to your first splash park, and we have been trying out all the parks in the area and even up north! You love to swing, and climb UP the slides. You are a crazy little dare devil!

We also took you to the circus! You were so amused you fell asleep 20 minutes in, good show ringling!

We have figured out, it takes you about 4-6 months to get comfortable enough with people to leave my arms and happily go into theirs. You are quite a mamas boy!

You do get VERY excited when you hear the sound of the skype phone call, because you know daddy is calling and you love talking to him.

You also started sleeping through the night in your own crib! A feat never really accomplished in this family before. YAY owen! You love to fall asleep listening to Scouts bedtime music.

One of your favorite new moves this month is clapping. You clap when you want food, when you're happy, when you want up. You clap clap clap all day long. It is the cutest thing in the world!

One of your favorite games this month is got your binky! I am glad you think I am so funny! You learned to shove the binky back into my mouth as well.

Saving the BIGGEST feat for last, do you know what you did Owen? You took your VERY FIRST STEPS!

We were casually hanging out with some friends in the living room when, boop boop boop! Off you went 3 whole steps. You surprised me so much I went WOAH! so loud that you startled and fell. We were able to get you to do a few more and luckily my friend caught it on video for us.

We are almost down to one year with you, It has been so much fun baby O. Well be seeing you in just a few weeks for the big ONE!

Ten on Ten

Ten on Ten: 10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
(Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!)

Every day starts off with a cup of coffee, and now they start in a beautiful irish mug my best friend got me in Ireland! Thanks Kel!

We spent most of the day at the splash pad 10 minutes from our house!

Me and my little enjoying the sun.

And again, its crazy to think one day those chubby baby feet will be bigger than mine.

Hunter spraying the kid who tried to spray my camera. Hes my protector!

Owen playing airplane.

Back home resting, our little businessman was having fun!

I just love my daughters curly hair.

Hunter dragged Hailey across the yard, they were playing rescue operation

The beautiful green belt behind our fence. I accidentally kicked the soccer ball back there which today I had to venture in and rescue! I love having this instead of a neighbor :)

Ten Months.

Ten wonderful fun months have gone by already. The time between writing these posts seems to only be days! Even though I am a couple weeks late on this one.

In month ten one of your favorite new things was blueberries. You eat those faster than anything else and boy are they messy!

You have been so great at sleeping in your crib, a feat Hunter and Hailey never really mastered. You wont go to sleep unless I put on www.pandora.com then you take a beautiful 2-3 hour nap. We hit out free 40 hours quite quickly every month.
You have been a very active little dude! You have gotten really good at cruising and you let go and stand on your own to examine things a lot now. Still don't seem too quick to walk which is fine with me!

We got a new swing set this month and you LOVE to swing. You also like to try and climb UP the slide, crazy kid!

You learned how to crawl down the two steps into the backyard, this has made you so happy. You love to go into the backyard whenever you please. I have to make sure you stay away from that slide though!

You started waving bye bye to people. You stick your arm straight out and pump your fist, its quite awesome!

You spend most of your day crawling around and the other half is eating. You love to eat! I have yet to find a food that you refuse to eat (with exception to the Gerber baby food). I hope that you keep the love of food and don't become a picky eater someday!

One thing we have been working on is getting you to like other people besides me. You are 100% mamas boy! Our friend Dennis comes by from time to time and it took you about 3 months to voluntarily crawl up to him and let him hold you.
I am honored to be your favorite, but mamas need a break too :)

You adore Hunter and Hailey. They come in the room and your face lights up, you get so excited to see them. I love watching you try and interact with your big brother and sister. One day you'll be running right along with them.

You went to your very first sporting event and a great team at that! We went to see the Colorado Rockies! We had lots of fun at the game, you enjoyed playing with the bags of peanuts.
(Don't worry no peanuts were consumed by Baby O)

You are such a joy Owen, so sweet tempered, quiet, yet happy and loud. Everyone always tells me "he is the quietest baby I've ever met!" Maybe I should let them baby sit you?

I had lots of fun with you this month baby Owen.

You are hysterical with a wonderful personality and we love you so much!

Such a sweet Chubba Bubba!

let me tell you about separation...

Webster defines separation as "to set or keep apart." Next to Separate it suggested disconnect or sever. This defines our year. Our whole year of disconnected separation.

My husband, my best friend, my partner in crime is currently 9,000 miles away. In a different day, in a different part of the world. How crazy is that? My husband is in tomorrow and I miss him.

Us army wives are tough, and were supposed to have it all together. We are strong, we are mighty, we are capable of miraculous feats, or so it seems.

I myself have weeks where I cry, I bitch, I complain, Im a big fat ball of negative nancy. Thats my current state of being. While I try to be positive, and try to see the light and appreciate all that surrounds me sometimes its just HARD.

I miss my best friend, I miss my co-parent, heck I miss taking a shower! Yes, I take showers...but they consist of about 4 minutes and usually someone screaming at me on the other side of the curtain.

As an Army wife with a husband in another country, we are left to be everything to everyone. I am a maid, a cook, a teacher, a doctor, a story teller, a veterinarian you name it and we are handling it. Its no wonder that some times I just feel like I can't take another second and I hide inside my master closet wondering if its over yet.

We sometimes feel like because we are supposed to be so strong and mighty we are not allowed to show weakness. Or at least thats how I feel. I bottle up my whines and my complaints and I pretend everything is peachy keen. Then three kids will cry, two dogs will bark, the doorbell rings, your phone vanishes, the toilet over flows and all of a sudden your brain just goes KA BOOM! Bottling it all up is a bad bad idea...must find an outlet.

I like to blog, in fact I love it. I love sharing the pictures I take of my children and I love telling the stories I want to remember a long time from now. Sometimes though, its another thing I have to put off because there are just one too many distractions going on.

So my blogger absence is due to insanity. I am late posting Owens ten month blog, I have a few blogs in draft and about 200 pictures to go through.

Please excuse me while I hide in my master closet for awhile.

If you have a Military wife in your community please reach out. We are too darn stubborn to ask for help but we would love some. It will make our day and you will be doing your country a great service, helping the wives who help the guys fight for our freedom.

Ten on Ten

Ten on Ten: 10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
(Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!)

We started our day "helping" my neighbor set up the swing set.

Hailey happily took the first test drive!

I made a quick stop at Starbucks before picking Hunter up from school. Missing happy hour by 20 minutes, darn it.

Hunter was SO excited that the swing set was finished!!

Two 4 year old girls equals mass destruction...

Little baby feet at snack time.

My three lovelies in the fort.

Anakin making a run for it. This reminds me of THIS(click)

Owen got stuck on the slide and instead of helping I took a picture, mean!

and finally, Miss Hailey pouting because her brother knows how to spin and she couldn't figure it out.

It was a good day! Beautiful weather and a new yard of fun! Next tenth it will be summer!!!
